Reading is fundamental to all we do. One of the ways we seek to assist our community is by providing online resources to help with improving reading skills. We focused on activities that are free and engaging. More biblio-centric reading activities will be coming soon!

These websites list the standards for Georgia in the areas of Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening, and Language from Kindergarten through 12th Grade.

Pre-K – 5 Activities

IXL Personalized Learning Homepage. This site has GA Standard Activities for various subject areas.

Martha Speaks. Listen to fun stories from Martha on PBS.

PBS Kids Reading Games. Online reading games for K-5.

Free Rice. A vocabulary-building website that donates free rice to impoverished places. The more right answers you give, the more rice is donated!

Fun Brain: This website is filled with games, videos, and storybooks for children, Pre-K – Grade 8.

Read Write Think. This section of the site offers online literacy learning using interactive tools such as Compare & Contrast Map, Inquiry & Analysis Chart, etc.

Scholastic Story Starters. Offers different themes and formats for kids to write stories to download or print.

Starfall:  Online activities for Pre-K – Grade 3

Storyline Online: Online videos featuring actors/actresses reading illustrated children’s books.

Story Place: Online stories for Pre-K children.

Super Book: Bible-related online activities

Turtle Diary Homepage. Has lots of free educational games for kids. This section of the site offers reading games.
