Part 2 - We Should seek his kingdom and his righteousness; not ours
In Matthew 6:33a, we are told to seek His Kingdom. This means getting to know Him personally and intimately through prayer, fasting, praise, worship, trusting in what the Word of God says about Him, and meeting with other believers in the body of Christ to celebrate Him, His Kingdom.
In Matthew 6:33b, we are told to seek His Righteousness. This means to search, know and use God’s Word in every area of your life. What does God have to say about any subject or situation you find yourself in? It is His Righteousness, His Truth, that should govern our lives, not ours. Too often, we lean on our understanding, even though the Word of God tells us not to do that (Proverbs 3:5-6), then we falsely claim, “thus saith the Lord,” when the Lord had absolutely nothing to do with our decision.
Scripture Passages
Matthew 6:31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
