Fruit That Will Last

  • I am the vine; you are the branches.
  • If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit;
  • apart from me you can do nothing.

THE GOOD MAN VERSUS THE EVIL MAN

Part 2 - Jesus To The Rescue

If you realize how wretched and sinful you are and need help, you have taken the first difficult step. First, because it is the first step to your salvation. Difficult; because people believe they are born good or evil, and as long as they treat people right, they are ok. Not true!! Romans 3:23 says, ‘For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.’ Allow Jesus Christ to deliver you so that you become a slave to God’s law in your mind (soul), realizing that you are a slave to the law of sin in your sinful nature (flesh).

Romans 7:25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.

Jesus, through the law of the Spirit (Holy Spirit) who gives life, has set us free from the law of sin and death. The law (commandment) was powerless to help us because it was weakened by the flesh (sin). God sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. Jesus condemned sin in the flesh so that the righteous requirement of the law (commandment) would be fully met in those who live according to the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8: 1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

So here are the two Conditions of Man: Those who have their minds set on what the flesh desires and those who have their minds set on what the Holy Spirit desires. For those with their minds set on the Holy Spirit, this is what we call living by Grace – God saves you because He loves you, even though you did not deserve it!

Romans 8: 5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
