Fruit That Will Last

  • I am the vine; you are the branches.
  • If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit;
  • apart from me you can do nothing.

Fruit That Will Last

Part 6 - The False Believers

You can pretend to know Jesus and say wonderful, truthful things about Him, but you are nothing but an evildoer. These people love to go to church and participate in bible study and other church events with the people of God, but they do not believe or intend to obey the Word of God. However, it is just a great opportunity to eat, drink and be merry. When a branch is in Jesus but is not bearing fruit, they are bearing fruit for the enemy of Jesus Christ, the devil.

See what Galatians 5:16-21 say about the type of people they are in the Scripture Passages below.

persecuted

God created every person in Jesus. The decisions they make in life, whether to believe in Him or not, determine whether they are a good or bad person. God is still in control of everyone and everything. When you do not bear fruit in Jesus, though you may be connected to Him, you are getting nothing from Him. Look at what is said about God and His Son, Jesus, and also at what is said about false believers who do not bear fruit in the Scripture Passages below.

Scripture Passages

Galatians 5:16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

God and His Son, Jesus
:

Colossians 1:15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

False Believers
:

Matthew 15:7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:

8 “‘These people honor me with their lips,

    but their hearts are far from me.

9 They worship me in vain;

    their teachings are merely human rules.’”

Isaiah 6:9-10a “‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding;

    be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’

10 Make the heart of this people calloused;

    make their ears dull

    and close their eyes.

Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
