What happened, when you accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life (Ephesiams 1:13-14, NIV)?
When you heard ‘the Message of Truth’ (the Word of God) concerning your Salvation as a new believer, you believed what you heard and were sealed with the Holy Spirit in your spirit (man’s spirit). This is a deposit, guaranteeing your inheritance until the redemption (the return of Jesus) of those who belong to God (2 Corinthians 1:21-22). God seals His children with the Holy Spirit.
What does it mean to “go and bear fruit – fruit that will last” (John 15:16, NIV)?
As a new child of God, you will find that you still look the same to yourself and everybody else, and your thoughts before you were saved come back to you now and then to distract you from the new and saved you. However, when you accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, God began a good work in you, and He promised that He would complete His work in you until the day Jesus Christ comes back (Philippians 1:6). Let God do His work in you.
Philippians 1:6 …being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; …
As a new child of God, you might have sinned in your walk with Jesus, and even though you have repented, you still feel unworthy of being a child in the Kingdom of God. When Jesus came into your life for the first time, it was by God’s grace that you were saved, and now, in the present time, you are being justified (Just as if you had never sinned) freely by God’s grace through the redemption that is in Jesus. Give thanks for God’s grace in justifying you through the redemption in Jesus (Romans 3:23-24).
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,…
As a new child of God, you may have difficult situations that cause you to be afraid. However, God knows what is happening; all you have to do is put your trust in Him. Approach your situation confidently by being amazed at what God is doing in your life because He is working in you to have the willingness and ability to perform for His good pleasure. You do not have to do anything easy or difficult alone. God is working in you so that you can bring glory to Him (Philippians 2:12b-13).
Philippians 2:12 … work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
