Have you ever had to speak with someone who you knew was not interested in anything you were saying, but who nevertheless wanted to hang out with you? 
The reasons may be in order to get something; free food, money, car ride, or talk about worldly stuff they worship, etc.? They themselves may have everything they could ever want, but for some reason, for them, it is better to take than to give, or to talk than to listen.
The Fight Is Not Against Your Friends
As an experienced victim I have had to deal with these sophisticated, self-professed Christians, with their smiling and welcoming selves, and their sophisticated 
hypocrisy and leeching behaviors. I do not know if you will believe me when I say that I truly love them, but I hate what they do. I am reminded that “the fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the devil”. So, I really can’t get mad at those who think less of me, but keep wanting to take from me. Thank you Jesus for being the righteousness in me, now, let’s get back to my “revolving lost and found” friends.
Here is how I deal with my hypocritical friends, who want to talk about everyone else, but Jesus. If you are in this situation, just start talking excitedly about the size of dog poop, regardless of what they are saying, 
and they are sure to want to move away from you. Be prepared, though, to be thought of as a loony bin by some, and to hardly hear from others again. I wish I had a little of the temperament and skill Jesus had in dealing with those who just wanted Him for the miracles He did and the food He provided. The way Jesus handled them was to speak to them in parables; that’s how He dealt with them.
The Disciples Asked: Why Speak In Parables?
This was Jesus’ answer to them.
Matthew 13:10 The disciples came to him and asked, “Why do you speak to the people in parables?”
11 He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them”.
The problem is that, even though people see God’s Word in action through the manifested healings, miracles and other supernatural occurrences, they are unable to perceive that this manifestation came from God’s Word. Also, even though they hear God’s Word and the wonderful stories of healings, miracles and other supernatural occurrences that happen in many people’s lives around them and including their lives, they are unable to understand God’s Word.
Unable to Understand and Perceive
We are told the reason why they will never understand God’s Word, no matter how much they hear it. We are also told why they will never perceive God’s Word, no matter how much they see the healing, miracles, and supernatural occurrences manifested from God’s Word.
Matthew 13:13 This is why I speak to them in parables:
“Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
14 In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
“‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
The Scripture states that their hearts have become hardened, which is to say that they are not interested in God’s Word.
They are always hearing God’s Word, but they are hardly listening to what is said, and if their eyes are open, they are thinking about everything else but God’s Word, and the Scripture describes them as having closed their eyes.
Matthew 13:15 For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
How To Eat God's Word
Here is how you should eat His Word: First, start seeing God’s handiwork in everything you see, hear, smell, taste and touch. Everything and everyone you see; God made.

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
Everything God made, He made through His Son, Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
Colossians 1:15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
Hearing In The Light of God's Word
Secondly, start hearing everyone in the light of God’s Word. Be only around people whose delight is in God’s Word when you hear them speak. Do not be afraid to step away from ungodly talk, or become inattentive, if you are not able to walk away.
It is the most wonderful thing to hear God’s Word and picture it coming alive inside of me! To enjoy the presence of God through Jesus, gushing with scenes, activities, dreams, … coming from the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control)! It takes me to wonderful places, allowing me to do “more than I could ever ask or imagine” in my spirit and in the world (Ephesians 3:20). This is what is happening inside of me, when others ask, “why are you smiling?” or they tell me, “do you realize that you are singing?” All I can say is Hallelujah!!!

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.
When you hear God’s Word, the Scripture also tells us that it is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Understanding God's Word
Thirdly, when you see and hear God’s Word, make every effort to understand what you have seen and heard by asking God to give you understanding like He did when He sent Philip, the Apostle, to the Ethiopian who did not understand what he was reading. Take the time to ask leaders in your church to explain in simple terms what was seen and/or said. God wants you to understand what He is showing you and saying to you. He will reveal His will for you and He will surround you with people, who will help you.

Here are three Scriptures below that state what you should do with God’s Word, to be able to experience His eternal blessings.
Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children.
Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Apply God's Word
Lastly, when you see, hear, and understand God’s Word, do what it says! Trust and obey it, and Jesus promises He will heal you, which is to say He will take care of all your needs and desires. You will be healed, if you see, hear, understand and turn (obey God’s Word).

James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
Even if you believe what is said, if you do not act on it, your faith is dead.
James 2:14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

And watch what God’s Word does to your life and your whole body.
Proverbs 4:20 My son, pay attention to what I say;
turn your ear to my words.
21 Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart;
22 for they are life to those who find them
and health to one’s whole body.
Finally, there are always blessings for those of us who see and hear God’s Word.
Matthew 13:16 But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. 17 For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
