Fruit That Will Last

  • I am the vine; you are the branches.
  • If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit;

When God's Child Worries

Part 3 - We Should examine ourselves to see if we are Faithful

When you find yourself at odds with other believers, would it not be a great time to reflect on whether you are a child of God who trusts and obeys the gentle Holy Spirit or a child of God who has allowed the devil a foothold in your life?

It is important to recognize when you stumble. For example, if you find yourself being conceited, provoking others, and being envious (
Galatians 5:26), you have stumbled, which is a nice way of saying you messed up or, to make it even clearer, you have sinned. This is why you should examine whether you were godly or ungodly in your behavior toward others.

Scripture Passages

2 Corinthian 13:5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test? 6 And I trust that you will discover that we have not failed the test.

Galatians 6:3
If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. 4 Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, 5 for each one should carry their own load. 6 Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor.

Galatians 5:26
Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
