Fruit That Will Last

Part 9 - Following/Applying The Greatest Commandment

If you always trust and obey Jesus in every area of your life, which is the same thing as abiding in Jesus, you will bear much fruit.


If you abide in Jesus and His Words (the Bible, which is the Word of God) abides in you (meditating on God’s Word day and night), you will get whatever you desire, and you will bring glory to God, our Father because you bear much fruit and you become Jesus’ disciple.

Jesus loves you and wants you to keep His commandments so that you will remain in His love, just as He has kept His Father’s commandments and remained in His love. We have the love of Jesus in us, and now we are getting His joy so our joy may be complete. We now have joy from Jesus that enhances our joy so that “the joy of the Lord is our strength” (no matter the situation you face).

Jesus commands us to love each other, and He calls us friends because He has given us everything He has learned from His Father. We were chosen and appointed by Jesus to go and bear fruit (evangelize) –  fruit that will last (adding to the body of Christ, the Church), and whatever we ask for in Jesus’ Name, God, the Father, will give it to us.

John 15:7

Philippians 4:10
I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. 11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.


Nehemiah 8:10
Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”


John 15:12
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.
